History of HomeTown Buffet
The history of Hometown Buffet is very interesting. The company has had a long history, full of its ups and downs. Yet, it continues on. Come, let us learn more. The parent company Buffet Inc. was opened in 1983. It was created by a restaurant veteran. This veteran was known as Hatlen. He had experience working for the company King’s Table, Inc.
Hatlen teamed up with an old friend from King’s Table. He was known as C. Dennis Scott. Togethoer, the duo planned out and created new and amazing franchises. Eventually they began to open a franchise. From this idea was born the very franchise of this corporation, Old Country Buffet. This chain began in March of 1984.
The first restaurant had only 29 employees. Even more interesting, it was located on a strip mall on the outskirts of the city Minneapolis. It was decided that all meals would include dessert. This way customers would feel like they were getting a bang for their buck. Instant success swooped over the restaurant, and it began to grow.
The company had grown so large that it soon gained another franchise. Hometown Buffet was bought. This acquisition brought about a great shift for the franchise. Further, it added a ton of land to the parent company. Now the franchise is continuing on. It hopes to grow and become successful as a true and powerful chain.
