Having a good metabolism enables you to consume more calories than usual without the need to burn as much. If you don’t have a good metabolism, on the other hand, you will gain weight pretty fast without really eating much. So, you can understand how important having a  good metabolism is.

Usually, you would kickstart your metabolism in the morning with a good breakfast. But that’s not the only option you have to increase your metabolism. You can drink coffee and green tea, work out and do a little bit of cardio to achieve an ideal metabolism as well.

1. Drinking warm lemon water 

Drinking warm lemon water just after waking up is a very good habit to have. There are plenty of advantages to this habit. Not only will you be hydrated in the early hours of the day, but warm lemon water also helps to increase your metabolism.

But these two are not the only good sides of this drink. Your body is detoxed, the waste materials are removed, the skin quality gets better, the liver and heart are kept in good shape while your mood is also lifted by drinking warm lemon tea in the morning.

2. Drinking water 

Even regular water is a great thing to drink in the morning. Through water-induced thermogenesis, drinking water results in the body burning calories to make sure the body temperature is increased. That is why it is suggested that you always keep a water bottle or a glass of water near your bed.  

3. Drinking coffee 

Drinking warm or room temperature water doesn’t necessarily mean that you can not have your cup of coffee in the morning. A cup of coffee early in the morning is very good for your metabolism. A cup of coffee with a little less sugar and cream has enough caffeine to increase metabolism.

To increase this amount, the use of loose leaf green tea is recommended.

5. Going for a walk

Walking is one of the best exercises you can do. A 15 to 20-minute walk can be very beneficial for your metabolism as walking causes calories to burn at a much faster rate. You can also intensify your walk by walking faster, walking up a hill, or jogging lightly for 10 minutes. 

6. Doing cardiovascular exercises 

If you don’t have 10 or 15 minutes to walk in the morning, try to do 5 minutes of cardio inside your home. One minute of each exercise of high knees, mountain climbing, push-ups, jumping jacks, and push-ups will be more than enough to get your metabolism going.

7. Doing strength training

Another way of boosting your metabolism is to incorporate strength training in your early morning routine. If you do such training, you will build up muscles that will burn calories as well as fat. You don’t always have to lift weights, instead, you can try Pilates and Barre. 

8. Doing High-Intensity interval training

High-intensity interval training, or more commonly known as HIIT, helps your metabolism to speed up. They can stay in effect for a couple of days after you do HIIT, so you don’t need to do it every day. 

9. Drinking Tabasco based juices 

Last but not the least, drinking a cup of tabasco-based juice in the morning will also increase your metabolism. Because spicy foods increase body temperature and in turn, increase metabolism.
